Mansfield is one of the most vibrant small communities in Victoria. The Mansfield District prides itself as the home of a community which welcomes newcomers and visitors, and it has very active arts and sporting communities. A vibrant main street boasts a wide array of goods and services, as well as a bookshop, library and many fine cafes and restaurants.
Further afield, the district offers many mountain and river walks and mountain biking / motorbiking / horseriding routes, and is the terminus of Australia’s longest continuous rail trail. Kayaking is also popular. It also boasts seasonal variation with boating and waterskiing on Lake Eildon being popular in the summer and snowsports on Mt Buller in the winter.
